Basic Checking
With Basic Checking there is no minimum balance required and there is no monthly service charge*. Transactions at AFCU ATMs are always FREE. If you use an ATM not owned by Advantage, your first five ATM transactions each month are Free, and only $1.50 for each transaction thereafter.

- 24-hour access to your accounts by telephone and "Teller Anytime" Homebanking. Check your account balances, make loan payments, and transfer funds anytime, wherever you are.
- Instant issue Debit Card --Walk into a branch- Walk out with your new account and debit card within minutes.
- The option of using your Debit Card to withdraw from your savings account as well as your checking account. Call our Phone Center at 585.454.5900, extension 5 to set up your account so you can have the option of withdrawing your money from your savings account, as well as from your checking account.
Record-keeping is a breeze:
- No minimum balance requirement to keep track of.
- One convenient monthly statement shows activity on all of your credit union accounts.
- Duplicate copies of each check you write (no more mystery gaps in your check register when you forget to record a check).
Important Information:
- You will receive your first order of checks in five to seven business days. About one week after you receive your checks, your checking account will be charged for the cost of the checks.
- You will receive a statement monthly. Advantage does not return your checks with your statement (a copy of an individual check can be made available for a fee).
- You will receive your ATM (Automated Teller Machine) or Debit Card immediately.
- Telephone Access Line - Convenience is only a push-button away with Access Line, available upon account opening or anytime by calling a Member Service Representative to request this FREE service.
Upon application for your checking account, you will receive complete information on electronic funds transfer, funds availability, and truth in savings.
* Members who maintain a minimum combined average daily balance of $500 with Advantage in deposit, certificate, IRA and loans, are exempt from the $5.00 per month relationship fee. Members 21 years of age and under, and accounts opened for less than 12 months, will be exempt from the $5.00 fee.
