What is the Kirby Kangaroo ® Club?

The Kirby Kangaroo Club is a fun and educational youth savings program offered by Advantage Federal Credit Union for children ages 12 and under. The goal of the program is to educate children about good savings habits and financial topics. Kirby Kangaroo accounts pay dividends, and come with a passbook, so it's easy to see that the more deposits you make, the faster your money grows! With each deposit, your child will receive Kirby Bucks, good towards fun prizes, such as spinning tops, slinkies, sunglasses, piggy banks and more!

How do I open an account?

Simply visit your favorite Advantage Federal Credit Union branch.

You will need an adult to open the account (parent, relative, or guardian), and the child's name, social security number, birth certificate and address.

What are "Kirby Bucks "?

"Kirby Bucks" are given with each deposit, ($200.00 or less). Kirby Bucks teach children to save for something they want. The more Kirby Bucks you save, the bigger the prize! Save Kirby Bucks to trade in for cool prizes like water bottles, teddy bears, flashlights, and banks.  Kirby Bucks can be traded for prizes at any Advantage branch.

How can my child earn extra money?

Along with the Kirby Bucks, Kirby Kangaroo accounts pay dividends, so it's a great way to teach young people that the credit union will pay them for keeping their money in their account and saving for the future.

What if my child already has a savings account at Advantage or another financial institution?

No problem! We can easily switch the old savings account to a Kirby Club account. Simply stop by your favorite branch or call 585.454.5900, ext. 5.

 What are the special benefits of Kirby Club?

The Kirby Club is a great way to save, but it's fun, too! Most kids will never forget opening their first savings account. They will fondly recall the special mailings that were addressed just to them. Kirby offers a FREE membership to the Kirby Kangaroo® Club newsletter and Website, featuring fun games, stories, activities, jokes, and helpful information on smart spending and smart saving.
